The spring of 2020 was a deeply scary and confusing time for us all, and every major brand on the planet was trying to figure out how to get their message across. This lead to an onslaught of what was quickly chided as “in these uncertain times sad piano music”. The U.S. Army had real reason to speak up in this moment, as they had boots on the ground helping real people find safety and relief. It was this truth that led Academy Award winning composer and NIN band member Atticus Ross to score this spot. He had recently become a U.S. citizen, and saw this as his chance to give thanks to the country that had opened its arms to him.
